Agency Onboarding

Once your contract is signed, MIC initiates the onboarding phase. This step ensures your agency’s name, structure, and internal documentation align with regulatory and operational requirements.

Includes:

  • Business name validation and internal system setup

  • CRM and communication access for your agency

  • Assignment of your MIC account manager

  • Timeline confirmation for registration and licensing

How Registration and Licensing Work Together

  • While closely connected, registration and licensing are not the same process.

  • A new agency will typically complete registration first, followed by licensing.

  • An existing agency onboarding agents may require agents to complete both registration and licensing independently.

  • An agent joining the network may need licensing, registration, or both depending on their current status.

  • Because every onboarding scenario is different, these processes may run simultaneously or in sequence, based on regulatory and operational requirements.

  • Our team manages these workflows intentionally to ensure compliance, avoid duplication, and keep onboarding moving efficiently.

Registration Department

The Registration Department focuses on establishing agencies and agents at the state, regulatory, and certification level so they are properly positioned to operate and sell insurance products.

Registration is often the first step for:

  • New agencies entering a state

  • Agencies onboarding new agents

  • Agents who are already licensed but not yet registered or compliant within a specific structure

Registration handles:

  • State business and agency registration requirements

  • Carrier and platform certifications

  • Compliance verification for agency and agent structures

  • Validation of selling eligibility within specific states

  • Ensuring agencies and agents are properly registered to transact business

Registration ensures that agencies and agents are recognized, compliant, and authorized to move forward before licensing or contracting activities can occur.

Licensing Department

The Licensing Department focuses on the individual insurance license itself and all matters related to obtaining, maintaining, or correcting that license.

Licensing may occur:

  • After registration

  • At the same time as registration

  • Independently, depending on the onboarding scenario

Licensing handles:

  • New insurance license applications

  • State license purchases and filings

  • License transfers, reinstatements, and reactivations

  • State-specific licensing issues or deficiencies

  • License renewals and continuing education compliance

Licensing ensures that each agent holds the correct, active license required to sell insurance products in their assigned state(s).

Contracting & Appointments

The Contracting Department is a core pillar of Myers Insurance Consulting and is led directly by senior leadership with decades of industry experience. This department specializes in agency contracting, carrier appointments, and relationship management across multiple states and carriers.

Contracting is overseen by Ann Myers, whose extensive background in insurance operations, carrier relations, and agency contracting has shaped the foundation of our network. While supported by a dedicated internal team, Ann maintains direct oversight of contracting strategy, carrier alignment, and approval readiness to ensure agencies and agents are positioned correctly before and during appointment submission.

What Contracting Handles

The Contracting Department is responsible for:

  • Agency and agent carrier appointment submissions

  • Carrier contracting reviews and compliance checks

  • Coordination of required documentation for appointments

  • Carrier-specific contracting requirements and guidelines

  • Appointment readiness verification prior to submission

  • Ongoing carrier relationship management and support

This department ensures that agencies and agents are submitted correctly, compliantly, and strategically, reducing delays caused by incomplete or inaccurate submissions.

Important Timing & Carrier Disclaimer

While Myers Insurance Consulting manages and oversees the contracting and submission process, it is important to understand that all appointment approvals, processing times, and final determinations are controlled by the carriers themselves.

Myers Insurance Consulting does not control:

  • Carrier processing timelines

  • Appointment approval speed

  • Carrier backlog or internal delays

  • Carrier-specific review outcomes

Our role is to ensure submissions are accurate, complete, and compliant before reaching the carrier. Once submitted, timing is dependent on the carrier’s internal processes.

How Contracting Fits Into Onboarding

Contracting may occur:

  • After registration and licensing

  • In parallel with licensing or registration

  • Independently, depending on the agency or agent’s onboarding status

Each onboarding path is evaluated individually to determine the most efficient contracting sequence while maintaining compliance.

Compliance Support

Compliance is a core part of our onboarding and operational process. We provide foundational compliance oversight to help keep agency and agent accounts organized, responsive, and aligned with carrier and regulatory requirements.

In addition, we offer expanded compliance support for agencies that need ongoing assistance with documentation follow-ups, carrier requests, and transaction-related coordination. This level of support is provided as a separate, ongoing service and is structured based on the size of the agency and number of agents supported.
